Our Program

Our qualified instructors teach private and group lessons on a weekly basis. The average lesson is 30 minutes, we also offer extended lessons as the rider progresses. Group lessons are also available to our riders when appropriate. Each lesson is individually planned to cater to each riders needs and goals. There are opportunities for groundwork before or after lessons. Students are matched with a specific horse to ensure the best quality lesson and maximize their growth and potential.

These lessons help riders gain balance, core strength, motor skills and planning. Riders gain confidence and a sense of accomplishment while having fun meeting and exceeding goals with their horse. Our horses also teach their  riders responsibility while they succeed and grow.

We work to encourage the growth of our riders and families by providing many avenues to allow success within our program.

Lessons are conducted at Rolling Hills Boarding Stable in Poway, Ca. Lessons are billed on a monthly basis. Anyone can ride with a completed Physicians release and RAD enrollment forms.

Facts

Do you attend shows or competitions?

We attend local and regional shows multiple times a year in order to provide our students the unique experience of competing against able bodied riders when appropriate. Shows include Dressage and Gymkhana (an equestrian event consisting of speed pattern racing and timed games for riders on horses).

Do you offer lessons for families?

Our sibling program offers an activity to share and helps foster an environment of understanding while deepening the bond of the entire family unit.

How do group lessons work?

Group lessons are an interactive, fun way for riders to socialize and work on their goals with others while having fun on their horse. These lessons are more affordable but group lesson times are less flexible, there is limited availability. We ask that riders are in the program for one month to be evaluated for a group that best matches their ability.

Can students become volunteers?

Students become volunteers and even instructors in training to help gain horsemanship and knowledge to build their independence and communication skills.

Do you host your own shows?

Each year our students compete in our own shows to showcase their skills throughout the year. We provide a RAD Rodeo (barrel pattern) and the Turkey Trot (fastest lap) where our students compete in different divisions based on speed and independence for ribbons and medals.

Volunteer appreciation?

Volunteer appreciation parties once a year to show our love, and appreciation to our volunteers and all the hard work they do for us.

What other events do you host?

Fun types of fundraisers to connect with the community and our own RAD family including photo shoots twice a year, a barn dance with an auction and dancing, wine pairing dinner events twice a year with auctions, a yearly Barnival, and a Bake Sale every year to connect and invite the community out to see our program and meet our horses
