Help & Thanks

We wouldn't be able to do it without you

Multiple Ways to Help

Without amazing volunteers we could not provide the services we do. If you choose to join the RAD team of volunteers you can help in many ways. Our volunteers participate in lessons, help with the horses, or assist in the office. Come make a difference in a persons life and join our family of volunteers. Volunteers need to be 14 years old to volunteer and 16 years old to be in lessons. Come join our team by contacting Allie Sarnataro our volunteer coordinator at 858-209-5662, or by using our contact form.

Our program could not operate without generous donations from people like you! Donations of horse equipment, barn supplies, games and sensory toys for the riders are always welcome. There is also the option of a partial or full scholarship of a horse or client. These funds help us reach as many in the community with a need as possible. All of our donations go towards benefiting the students and the horses. To make an in-kind donation please contact us at 858-209-5662. You may also click the donate button at the top of the page. All donations are tax deductible. RAD is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization.

In addition to donations we also have an amazon wishlist. Horse supplies as well as games and activities for our students are listed. When you purchase items from our wish list they are shipped to RAD and once we have a receipt we can provide you with your tax deductible letter. Don’t forget to sign up on Amazon Smile. Look for Ride Above Disability and a portion of your purchase will go to RAD!

Our program can’t happen without horses that are truly amazing. We look for horses that love being around people, have a calm demeanor, and have good ground manners. Our horses change lives on a daily basis and become our family. They need to be sound with no serious health conditions in order to build relationships with our students. A varied background is a major plus in order to help them settle into their new job. If you think you have a horse or pony that could be a good fit please contact Katie at 858-209-5662.

May 6th Barn Dance Fundraiser

We are very excited to announce a boot-scootin' fun time! Come join us for our 5th Annual Barn Dance Fundraiser on Saturday May 6, 2023. Presented by the Donegan Burns Foundation!

This event brings awareness to our community about our program and all the proceeds benefit the students and horses. In the past, our Barn Dance fundraisers have helped the program raise over $25,000. Which is huge for us as this is our biggest event of the year.

The event will include music, dancing, dinner, silent auctions, raffles, parent speeches, great wine and beer and more fun to be had by all! Each ticket includes dinner, dancing and one drink. We now have table options available and unlimited drink stamps.

This is an event you don't want to miss, we look forward to seeing you all there! (this event is 21 and up, dress is casual/western wear). Tickets are now on sale!

This will close in 20 seconds
